God Cares
1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

Isn't this a wonderful promise? No matter what troubles us in life, no matter what steals our peace, we can have the assurance that God is not so high above us that He is far removed from the things that cause worry, anxiety, or grief in our lives. This is such an amazing thought, that God listens to and responds to our particular needs. It is no wonder David said with awe in Psalm 8:3-4:

"When I look at Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars which Thou hast established; what is man that Thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that Thou dost care for him?"

We have a listening ear in God. He knows what we go through day by day. He cares about our joys, our sorrows, our triumphs, our defeats. He is there every step of the way as we walk with Him, even when we sometimes think He is far away. Sometimes, God not only walks with us, but He is the shoulder we can lean on. He is even the strong arm that carries us when necessary, because He cares. Evil is a part of this sin-sick world, and it will be so until the Lord comes again set things right again. Tragedies will sometimes overtake us, for we are not immune from them (Job). But we have the hope and the promise that whatever happens (though we may not always know or understand why) we can cast our troubles, our tears of grief, and our sorrows on God and He will comfort us in His own special way, to bring us the peace the passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
